During 2018 the Lithgow Valley Film Society held a Cancer Council Morning Tea at the cinema raising $400.
Later in the year there was a screening of a documentary about Professor Fred Hollows as a fund-raiser and, in conjunction with the Lithgow Garden Club, was able to send $500 to the Fred Hollows Foundation.
Fundraising for this year will include another morning tea for the Cancer Council at the cinema, 16 Main Street, on Friday, May 3 from 10am to 12pm. It is hoped to exceed last year's effort.
On Sunday, May 26 at 2pm the new documentary 'Pick of the Litter' will be screened as a fund-raiser for Guide Dogs Australia.
A member of the Guide Dogs team will be in attendance to speak about the important work of this very worthy organisation.
The film premiered in Australia several months ago and is now available to film societies throughout the country. Both fundraisers are open to the general public although bookings are recommended for the Sunday documentary.
