Lithgow Fire and Rescue will be hosting an information night for potential fire fighters on Wednesday, April 17 from 6pm-8pm.

The night will be for potential recruits to meet some of the Lithgow firefighters to find out what is involved in signing up.
"I think a lot of people think it is a volunteer position, but no, you do get paid for your service," Lithgow Fire and Rescue station officer Steven Houghton said.
"Joining will allow you to develop skills you didn't have before and you will be with a team of like minded people who will help and support you."

Mr Houghton said the more applicants the merrier.
