With the 2019 New Era Cup kicking off on May 4, the Lithgow Bears rugby league and league tag sides have been training hard in preparation.

Both sides have trained twice a week, focusing on skills and fitness in the weeks leading up to competition, as well as playing a few friendly matches against the Portland Rugby League Football Club and the Workies Wolves.
The men also participated in the Group 10 knockout as they took on Orange CYMS at Carrington Park in Bathurst on Friday, April 5.
Unfortunately the team went down 20-6.
The ladies league tag side had a friendly match against the women's Workies Wolves on Thursday, April 4 to get a taste of some tough competition and have a run, with many new players joining the side.

The ladies are also set to take on CSU Blue for a trial match on Friday, April 12 at Tony Luchetti Showground at 6.30pm.
The Bears kick off their competition season at Portland's Kremer Park with a double header of two league tag games and two men's games on May 4.
Lithgow Bears will take on Portland Rugby League Club and the CSU Mungoes will take on the Orange Barbarians.
Entry is just $5 to see four games of footy and all are welcome.
