Two men faced charges in Lithgow Local Court of intentionally marking a premises without cause on March 14.
The court heard the police were called at about at about 1am on December 22 after two men were seen spray-painting graffiti on the brick wall of the Anglican Church on the corner of Railway Parade and Roy Street.
Distinctive tags were also found on the power box at the corner of Read Avenue, a Ray White 'for sale' sign on Roy Street, a light pole on Clarice Street. There was graffiti on Donald Street and along the brick wall of the storm water catchment of Farmers Creek behind Beynon Street.
Two men were spotted by a police patrol walking down Main Street shortly afterwards. According to facts presented to the court, the two men had brown paint on their fingers and their belongings were searched. Spray cans were discovered in a back pack.
Plumpton man Zachary Jackson Dowler, 24, was found guilty of the offence and given a 12-months community release order, which requires him to be of good behaviour. Another man, a 21-year-old from Lithgow, was also ordered to be of good behaviour, but no conviction was recorded against him.
