Power outages were caused when the 18-year-old lost control of the vehicle at about 2.20am on Friday, November 9. The youth abandoned the car at the site but was taken into custody at Methven Street at 4am.
He told police he swerved to avoid another car, which pulled out in front of him.
The youth was found guilty with no conviction to be recorded due to his lack of a criminal history. He will serve out a six-month community release order.
