There has already been a slinging match between captains. Jon Cronin's attempt to give his Lithgow Hotel team underdog status was rejected by Valley's Ben Sheehan.
"They're been in three of the last four grand finals so I don't know where that's come from," he said.
"They know what to expect on the day."
Valley finished the regular season in the top spot. With the final washed out on Saturday, March 16, they find themselves squaring up once again against Lithgow Hotel.
Cronin said the Lithgow Hotel team was feeling "pretty good".
"The last game didn't go so well, but the weather played its part in that and we beat them the game before," he said.
"I think we've got the side to do it."
Run-scoring and team cohesion would be important factors for Saturday, he said.
"We'll be aiming to take out their top four early - they don't have much after that," he said.
Watch out for big-hitting Kobe Hunter with the bat, Brandan Horner and Blake Caldwell with the ball for Hotel. Cronin had his fingers crossed for another knock like they had at Hampton, when he made 198 and Kobe Hunter got a century.
They'll be targeting Valley's openers Ben Sheehan and trying to withstand the attack by Nick Miller and Aron Crowder.
Sheehan said Valley would be heading in "pretty confident" after beating Lithgow Hotel "convincingly" in the semi.
He said consistent bowling, more than anything, has been the foundation of their successful season.
"Our batting's been a bit more patchy. The bowlers have pulled us out a couple of times," he said.
He called out contributions by Aron Crowder's and Nick Miller.
The teams thanked their sponsors and all their supporters throughout the season.
Showdown time
Get set for a big weekend of cricket as the Lithgow Senior Cricket Association hosts its grand final in all three grades.
In first grade, Valley will take on Lithgow Hotel on Turf 1; in second grade La Salle Hornets 1 will take on Portland 1 on Conran Oval; and in the third, Hartley will face Valley 2 at Turf 3.
While last weekend's finals were abandoned due to the torrential rain which fell at times throughout Saturday, everyone's got their fingers crossed for continuing fair weather for March 23.
This weekend marks the end of a season which has been a trial for the competition. Instead of running two separate grades this season, there has been one, which has split into three for the finals series.
