Valley 1 v Lithgow Hotel 1
Valley 1 has taken a short cut to the grand final in the Lithgow Senior Cricket competition after a win over Lithgow Hotel 1 on Saturday, March 9.
Valley's bowling attack cut a swathe through Hotel's top order and destroyed their chance of hitting the total needed to take the win.
The minor premiers got off to a good start, with a half century to opener Ben Sheehan and 25 to Nick Miller.
The team set a total of 5-136.
Blake Caldwell was the best of Hotel's bowlers (2-21). Wickets also went to Brandan Horner and Steve Cronin.
Hotel's batsmen found it very tough going. Opener Mikk Mlanric and number three batsmen Matt Dickson fell for no score, and then number one Jon Cronin was caught out for eight runs.
Kobe Hunter, who has had some big hits recently, followed his teammates into the duck pond.
Blake Caldwell top scored on 28 as the team ended up all out for 81.
Valley's Nick Miller took four wickets for just 10 runs, with support from Aron Crowder (2-12), Nic Kenniff (1-31), Chris Giugni (1-21) and Juzen Takahira (1-0).
