The Lithgow Showgirl competition for 2019 has seen three local women enter and attend a judging day on Sunday, March 10 at the Portland Golf Club.
The 2019 entrants Emily Waru, Alanna Tomazin and Ciara Bastow were quizzed on their knowledge of the area, agricultural and national issues.
Each contestant was questioned by a panel of three judges then proceeded to an on stage Q&A in front of guests.
Showgirl coordinator Elyse Hudson said the Showgirl competition was the premier leadership program for young women aged between 18 to 24, across rural and regional NSW.
"The Showgirl competition focusses on empowering young women and developing their professional and personal skills and building networks," she said.
Ms Hudson also said she was proud of all three entrants this year.
"Each one has ambitions and goals to contribute significantly to rural and regional communities and Lithgow should be very proud of that. Despite some natural nerves, all women did exceptionally well in interview and on stage," she said.
She also thanked judges Andrew McKibbin, Rachel Nicoll and Lorenzo Silvestri and sponsors for their support.
The 2019 Lithgow Showgirl will be sashed on Friday, March 15 at 7pm in front of the grandstand at the Lithgow Showground.
