For a couple of weeks, due to the extreme heat they only held nine hole competitions but are now back playing the full 18 holes.
Last Wednesday 1st Division was won by Sue Brooks with a 72 nett and relative newcomer Robyn Houlison won the 2nd Division with a good score of 71 nett.
The Ladies are trialling Friday competitions rather than Saturdays until the end of May when a decision will be made whether to stay with the Friday or revert to Saturdays. Last Friday the Stableford event was won by President Judi Moore with a great 39 points.
The Blue Mountains pennant series has commenced and on Monday at Oberon, the Lithgow Team defeated Blackheath by 4 matches to one. Next match is at Lithgow on March 4 with the local team having the bye.
Member Fran Le Fevre has unearthed an old photo of the Lady Members of the Lithgow Golf Club around the 1920 era. If anyone has any knowledge of who the players may be you can contact Judi Moore 6351 4794 or Pat Livermore 6351 4293 or email lynetteritchie@bigpond.com and let them know.
We have already had some feedback from a family member, the little boy in the photo has been identified as Jack Margison with his mother Olive (a very keen golfer) directly behind him. The current Lady Golfers decided to emulate the photo by having another taken in the exact same place in 2019.
What a difference 100 years makes!
