Peter Morris top-scored for La Salle with 36 not out, with contributions by Geoff Thompson (16), Eli Morris (14), Chris Isley (14) and Dave Spillane (13).
The bowling attack from Portland's Blake Todd (4-23) and Troy Chalmers (15) kept chipping away at La Salle's line-up.
In reply, La Salle bowler Lachie Thompson was in great form, taking four wickets and effectively containing the Portland's top order.
Troy Chalmers, batting at number seven, fought back to top score for the team on 17, with the next best openers Chris Hann (16) and Blake Todd (15). The team finished on 112, but La Salle claimed the victory with their score of 118.
Valley 2 v Lithgow Hotel 2
Two of Valley 2's bowlers finished with four wickets. One of them, Sonu Kumar, had the very impressive final figures of 4-5. Teammate Bayden Charlton was not far behind, taking 4-20.
It is no surprise then that this combination demolished Lithgow Hotel's line-up for 67, with help from fellow bowlers Matt Williams (2-19) and Riley Bell (1-18).
Rob Champion top scored for Lithgow Hotel on 22, with Mark Thomas the next best on 12.
In reply, Valley's Lou Kappos led the chase, finishing 24 not out. Graeme Bell and Jono Reid were there in support with 13 each on their way to 71 and a win.
Steve Sellers was the best of the Hotel bowlers with 2-18. Wickets also went to Jason Murray and Dan Hine.
THE DUCK POND
La Salle Hornet Rob Spillane was out for a quacker while opponent Graeme Gyhs from Portland also found himself in the pond, out LBW.
A trio of Lithgow Hotel's batsmen found their way to the pond: Dan Hine, Dylan Taylor and Bradon Sellers.
Valley's Tyler Buck and Sam Johnson were both bowled for nought by Lithgow Hotel's Steve Sellers.
