La Salle Hornets 1 tiptoed home with 101, overcoming the Hampton team, which finished on 96. 

Todd Walsh top scored for La Salle on 31 not out. Lachlan McMahon contributed 16. 

The batsmen were harried by Hampton’s Malik Khawaja, who took four wickets. Fazeel Tariq claimed two wickets, while Matt Palmer took one.

Tariq was also giving it a red hot go with the bat, with a game high score of 35 before he was caught off the bowling of Will Brown.

Fellow bowler Malik Khawaja gave his support, adding 16, but the Hampton line-up quickly fell apart under an effective team bowling attack from La Salle. 

Anthony and Will Brown each took one wicket, as did Lachlan McMahon, David Wheeler and Aaron Manton. Todd Walsh backed up his batting performance with two wickets of his own. 

Valley 1 made short work of Portland on Saturday, losing just two wickets in their pursuit of the total of 55. 

Aron Crowder once again had a field day, taking five wickets as Portland’s batsmen struggled to make double figures. Nic Kenniff joined in the action, taking 2-8 and Juzen Takahira claimed one. 

Brandon Miles, batting at number seven, finished with the most runs for Portland on 19. Isaac Fardell was next best on 11. 

Valley opener Ben Sheehan did not muck around, making 23 including four boundaries before he was caught behind off the bowling of Joel Cameron. Cameron took the only other wicket of the inning when Eli Felton was caught for 10. 

Nic Kenniff and Andrew Fawbert rounded out the run chase as Valley claimed a win with 56 runs. 

Brandan Horner claimed five wickets for just six runs for Lithgow Hotel as the team took an easy victory on Saturday against the Lidsdale Lions. 

Phil Wright and Nick Bender top-scored for the Lions on 17 runs but the loss of three batsmen in a row for no score in the middle order saw the team struggle to just 58. 

The combined attack from Lithgow Hotel’s Horner and Brock Barry (who took 3-18) was unstoppable. Matt McManus also took one wicket. 

Jon Cronin led the run chase for Lithgow Hotel, amassing most of the required runs, finishing on 43 not out. He found it difficult to keep dance partners as the team lost four wickets on their way to the total. 

Lidsdale’s Harry Bender (2-19), Dom Dellabosca (1-31) and Nick Bender (1-1) did the damage from the bowling ends. 

Hampton’s Adam Lewis found himself in the duck pond against La Salle. He was joined by La Salle’s Greg Kitchner and Matt McDonald. 

The duck pond loves the bowling of Aron Crowder at the moment. He sent Portland’s Shane Green there this week with a golden, while teammate Juzen Takahira claimed the wicket of Dan Scott for no runs. 

Splash, splash, splash – the duck pond welcomed three in a row from Lidsdale on Saturday, Brodie McCann, Harry Bender and Dom Dellabosca. Teammate L Giokaris joined them later in the order. 

Lithgow Hotel 1’s Kobe Hunter and Andrew McIntosh fell for no runs in their clash against Lidsdale.
