A neighbour was alerted when a car alarm went off at about 12.35am. They saw the vehicle was on fire and called emergency services.
Police attended the scene and the incident is still under investigation.
Man injured in crash
A motorcyclist was taken to hospital after coming off his bike at Newnes on Sunday, February 10.
An ambulance was called after the 23-year-old Miller man hit a pothole on Sunnyside Road, lost control of his motorbike and was ejected from his seat, hitting several gum trees.
He was transported to Lithgow Hospital where he received treatment for a sore back and ribs.
He returned a negative breath test but was charged for riding without holding an appropriate licence, not carrying a licence and for riding an unregistered, uninsured vehicle.
Injured in crash
A 47-year-old Lithgow woman was taken to hospital with chest injuries following a crash at the intersection of Rabaul and Bren Streets in Littleton.
The woman was transported by ambulance with chest injuries. The other driver, a 26-year-old Lithgow man, was not believed to be injured. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
Damaged car
The antennae was broken off a Toyota Hilux parked in Macauley Street, Lithgow, some time between 9am on February 7 and 12pm on Friday, February 8.
The damage was estimated to be $100.
Offensive behaviour
A 53-year-old Blacktown man was issued with an infringement notice for offensive behaviour after relieving himself on the rubbish bins of a business in Burns Lane, Lithgow, at 6.30pm on February 8.
He was spotted by police and issued an on-the-spot fine.
A 48-year-old Portland man was ordered to leave Lithgow’s Main Street area at 11am on Friday, February 8, for harassing and abusing passersby. He was issued a criminal infringement notice and ordered to leave the area after swearing at police, who had been called to the area.
