La Salle Academy graduates and twin brother and sister Stephen and Sarah Smith have been awarded scholarships to Sydney University under the Schools Recommendation Scheme.

They were presented with the awards on Wednesday, February 6 at the Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst’s annual awards ceremony for Academic Excellence.
The ceremony recognises students who achieved a Band 6 result in the 2018 HSC, were placed first in their course in the Diocese or received a nomination for a showcase.
Sarah Smith was recognised for an E4 (equivalent of Band 6) in Extension 1 Mathematics and first place in Chemistry.
Stephen Smith was recognised for an E4 in Extension 1 Mathematics and first place in Extension 2 Mathematics.
The twins will set off to Sydney to study a three year course at the University of Sydney this month.
Sarah will study a Bachelor of Medical Science and Stephen will study a Bachelor of Science.
Jake Gillmore received a Band 6 in Visual Arts.
Brielle Mendham received a Band 6 in Industrial Technology - Timber Furnishings along with inclusion of her major work in InTech and a nomination for shape.
Brielle was unfortunately unable to be at the ceremony to receive her award.
