The election will be held on Saturday, March 23 and 20,000 paid roles are being recruited across the state for employment on election day or in the weeks prior for some administrative jobs.

NSW Electoral commissioner John Schmidt said no experience was necessary and all training would be provided.

“You don’t need experience to apply and we provide all necessary training,” he said.

“We are seeking people who are team players, good communicators and enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.”

In the Central West, 1122 workers are needed to fill roles, with the Orange electorate needing the most with 201 jobs available.

Workers are also needed in the following electorates: Bathurst (191 jobs), Boorowa (192 in the Goulburn electorate), Cowra (187 in the Cootamundra electorate), Dubbo (153 jobs) and Nyngan (198 in the Barwon electorate).

Mr Schmidt said it was not too late to apply and thousands of workers were still needed across the state.

“There are some electoral districts where we are particularly short of staff and keen to hear from local applicants,” he said.

To work at the election, you need to be enrolled to vote.

“Delivering democracy is worthy work and provides people with transferable skills as well as income,” Mr Schmidt said.

“We particularly encourage younger people to apply and anyone who speaks languages in addition to English.”
