David Ward, Hartley Historic Site Project Officer, said back in October NPWS invited the local community to attend the annual ‘Back to Hartley’ event.
To date the Advisory Committee jointly with the local NPWS have raised over $33,500 for local charities and not for profit groups within the area since 2013.
Mr Ward said each year they held the ‘Back to Hartley’ event because it was a fun, family day out which celebrated Hartley’s historic village.
“This event is run in partnership with the Hartley Historic Site Advisory Committee and we thank them for their fantastic contribution,” he said.

“It’s also a great fundraising initiative, this year we selected local charity Lithgow Aged Care and the $6,000 raised at the event will be donated to them.
“We are delighted to hand over the cheque to Lithgow Aged Care. It’s what the ‘Back to Hartley’ event is all about, a local community event raising money for a worthy local charity.
“Thank you to everyone who attended, sponsored and helped with this year’s event,” Mr Ward said.
