Marion Manson said after contacting Lithgow City Council three times they have replied with a hard copy letter stating they will grate the road in mid January.
Grating the road will help with the constant potholes in the road that have been filled in multiple times by their 70 year old neighbour.
“As a ratepayer we shouldn’t be expected to fix council roads,” she said.
While happy that the potholes will be fixed, Ms Manson is concerned that Lithgow Council hasn’t taken into consideration the falling trees.
“Fixing the potholes defeats the whole purpose because we still can’t use the road,” she said.
“Fixing the potholes isn’t going to stop the trees from falling, so I am going to have to contact them again about that issue.”
Both Ms Manson and her neighbour have been forced to use the dirt road that runs past their homes to access and exit their properties.

“We shouldn’t have to use a back road to access our homes because our main street is incapacitated due to falling trees,” she said.
Ms Manson said that every couple of days when she takes her dog for a walk she finds a new branch or tree has fallen.
“I have found them blocking entrances to the dam on this road and my neighbour had to try and move it for us,” she said.
“It is just too dangerous, you never know when a tree is going to fall or large branches because a lot of them have cracks.”
Ms Manson said that since moving to the Capertee property a year and a half ago the road has been severely deteriorating.
“It is scary, because what if a bushfire occurs and there are trees that have fallen, we can’t get out safely,” she said.
Lithgow City Council has been contacted for comment.
