Stephen and Sarah Smith are twins who have been blessed with the gift of knowledge.
The duo attended La Salle Academy and have just completed their Higher School Certificate (HSC) with whopping ATAR scores.
Subject results were released on Thursday followed by the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) released on Friday morning, December 14.
Sarah received a score of 92.05 closely followed by her twin brother Stephen who received an ATAR of 91.15.
Extension mathematics was their highest scoring subject.
The twins agreed on saying they were prepared enough when entering the exam rooms in October.
“After school finished I did a practice exam every morning and then marked it, and the things I got wrong I went back over and studied more,” Sarah said.
Stephen said he wasn’t stressed as he knew he had done a lot of work and preparation.
“I knew I had done lots of work, I pretty much studied every afternoon,” he said.
Stephen and Sarah mostly did the same subjects and were able to complement each other when it came to studying.
“If I didn’t understand something and Stephen did then he’d help me out and vice versa,” Sarah said.

Stephen said his favourite subject in school was Mathematics.
“I really enjoyed it because there are always definitive answers in math, they’re either right or wrong,” he said.
Sarah said her favourite subject was Chemistry.
“I like all the practical things you can do with Chemistry,” she said.
The twins advised students who would take on the HSC next year to make sure they studied regularly even if it was just for a little bit each day.
“Studying is important if you want to achieve great results, but also remember to take study breaks because they’re just as important,” Stephen said.
The twins will move to Sydney to study a three year course in a Bachelor of Science at the University of Sydney commencing in February next year.
Although an exciting road lies ahead, Sarah said she would miss the small community that Lithgow has to offer.
“I like the small community of our school and that’s something I’m going to miss when I’m in Sydney, it's going to be different,” she said.
The clever duo also agreed that university was something they never had to think twice about.
“We love finding things out, so that’s why we want to continue our studies.
“We are both naturally curious people,” Sarah said.
