BUILDING work has started at Shiralee’s first subdivision in south Orange, just weeks after lots were registered.

Contemporary Homes has four houses in the first stage of 17 lots, either under construction or about to start.
Owner Michael Paddison said the homes would generally have four bedrooms and two bathrooms, taking advantage of the 800-900 square-metre lot sizes.

But he said styles would differ.
“They range from contemporary to Hamptons country style homes,” he said.
Among his clients are a pair of first home buyers, an established couple and a couple with two children.
He said the future extension of Rifle Range Road to Forest Road via the southern feeder road attracted buyers because it would link them with the CBD and they also looked forward to the village centre down the track.
“North Orange never used to have the shopping centre or the service station – you have to get people out there first – but they’re planning something similar in south Orange,” he said.
With north Orange well advanced, Mr Paddison said there was not much land left.

“We can’t go any further west and we can’t go any further east because of the water catchment so we’ve got to go to the south,” he said.
He anticipated the first residents would be able to move in by March.
Two streets have been created to serve the development – Sweetheart Drive off Shiralee Road and Tanika Street linking back to Lysterfield Road.
