She certainly did that with her specially designed heirloom box, which has been selected as part of this year’s Shape, an exhibition of outstanding major projects developed by HSC design and technology students.

“Everything in the box – chain, hinges, drawer runners – is all made of wood,” Brielle said.
“I wanted to produce something that I had never seen before.”
The box drew attention for its intricacies, including the use of Lignum Vitae, Huon Pine, Brazil Wood, Purple Heart and Wenge.

To achieve the box’s aesthetic, Brielle learnt to use a laser cutting machine.
The Shape exhibition will be held at the Powerhouse Museum from February 22 to May 5, 2019.
Brielle was publicly congratulated by the Catholic Diocese of Bathurst when the news was announced on Tuesday, December 11.
