Other impoundment areas stocked in the past month include; Orange, Rylstone Dam, Ben Chifley, Wyangala, Carcoar dam and Oberon Dam.
With positive feedback received from the larger tagged trout release into Oberon dam last year, this year Carcoar Dam received around 1000 larger tagged trout (grown out to almost 12 months old) as part of the trail program in order to help combat the Redfin issue with in the dam.
According to Wallerawang branch Central Acclimatisation society member Ray Tang, the fish in the rivers and lakes around the area and the NSW recreational trout fishery is very important to our local area because it not only contributes to the economy but provides historic and social significance to many communities.
