Temperatures will rise as high as 37 degrees in some parts of the region, with only one location predicted not to rise above 30 degrees.
The coolest place to be on the weekend will be Lithgow, with a top of 28 expected on Saturday and 29 on Sunday.
The Bureau of Meteorology alert issued on Thursday morning said low-intensity heatwave conditions were expected across much of NSW.
The mercury may be predicted to reach the low 30s on Saturday, but on Sunday it will soar higher.
The hottest place to be will be Dubbo and Forbes with both predicted to reach the mid 30s on Saturday before increasing to 37 on Sunday.
Cowra, Grenfell, Parkes, Wellington and Young should all see a top of 36 degree on Sunday.
It will be a tad cooler in Mudgee and Nyngan with a top of 35; Bathurst and Oberon should reach a top of 32 degrees; while a top of 30 is predicted in Orange on Sunday.
Meanwhile, wet weather is predicted to return early next week with much of the region set to receive rainfall through until Wednesday.
