The under 12 to 14 combined girls basketball team played their grand final match on Wednesday, December 5.

The match was a close one with the first 10 minutes being 10-4 with the girls making some impressive shots.
At half time the navy blue team had crawled back some points being down 20-16.
During the third quarter when one of the navy blue players fell, all the girls on the court showed their sportsmanship by checking the girl was okay and helping her up.
The light blue team was down on numbers due to a school excursion that was taking place on the same day, only having four players.
But with some tight defence being played the light blue team secured the win 48-40.
“That was a very exciting game of basketball, and you can all hold your heads high,” Lithgow basketball director, Richard Marjoram said.
Marjoram thanked the referees, parents and spectators for their ongoing support.
“It is all about enjoying and having fun,” he said.
The under 12’s boys team played their grand final on Thursday, December 6.
The boys played two 20 minute halves, with both teams having all players present.
The first half saw some impressive shots from the players, with the navy blue side scoring multiple penalty shots.
With only three minutes to go, the navy blue was up 17-15 and managed to score an extra two pointer before the siren went.
During the second half, some good steels were made from both sides, with intercepts being made consistently.

The foul ratio was what sealed the game with the light blue conjuring up nine fouls and the navy blue making only one.
In the end the navy blue team won the match 37-31.
“The boys have improved over the season and they played well today,” navy blue coach, Scott said.
“This was the best both teams have played over the whole season.”
The under 14 boys also played their grand final on Thursday, December 6.
The boys used their skills and put on a great show for the spectators who came out to Barton Street stadium to watch the match.
At half time, the navy blue team were up 26-21 in a tight contest for the win.
The navy blue boys managed to come out on top but the white team put up a big challenge for the win.
