Sam Cameron hit a half century for Portland to set up a 7-139 total for the team. He was assisted by a handy 20 from Dan Scott.
Juzen Takahira was the pick of Valley's bowlers, taking 3-29. Conor Roebuck took 2-11 while Aron Crowder and Ben Sheehan each took one.
Valley 1 had trouble settling in to their innings, with Aron Crowder top-scoring. Nic Kenniff (25) and Nick Miller (22) the next best.

Joel Cameron was responsible for a swift wicket turnover, claiming the scalps of the first four batsmen.
He went on to finish with figure of 5-40 as Valley’s innings ended on 119.
Dan Scott was also having a good day with the ball, taking 3-26, while Shane Green and Sam Cameron each took one wicket.
Lithgow Hotel 1 v Lidsdale
Phil Wright was once again on fire with the bat, finishing 92* for the Lidsdale team.
Nick Bender scored 62 as the team amassed 214 runs for the loss of five wickets.
Matt McManus was the best of Lithgow Hotel’s bowlers, taking 3-41, while Neil Hutchison and Kev Horner both took one.
In reply, the Lithgow Hotel team had a good crack, with Matt McManus following up his performance with the ball to make 63*.
He was by far the best of the batsmen, with the team finishing all out for 149.
Lidsdale bowlers Dom Dellabosca and Emmett Freeman took three wickets each, while Logan Ward claimed two and Harry Bender and Jamie Giokaris one each.
La Salle Hornets 1 v Lithgow Hotel 2
La Salle lost three wickets on their way to a winning total against Hotel on Saturday, December 1.
Dan Hine top-scored on 31 for Hotel. Steve Sellers was the only other batsman to reach double figures on 22. The team’s innings total was 95.
La Salle’s Will Brown and Lachlan McMahon took three wickets each, while Luke Brown finished with two and Dave Wheeler with one wicket.
Richard Wheeler 38* and Josh Amos 35* top-scored for La Salle as they made quick work of their run chase.
The Hotel bowlers did their best to keep La Salle at bay, with Jason Murray taking two wickets and Steve Sellers one. La Salle finished winners on 3-103.
Hartley v La Salle Hornets 2
Liam Keith top-scored for Hartley (56 not out) in their win over La Salle.
La Salle had struggled to put on runs, finishing their innings all out for 59.
Hartley lost just one wicket on their way to the total, finishing 1-62.
Hampton v Portland 2
Hampton won due to a forfeit by Portland.
The Duck Pond
Trent Bunting from Valley 1 found himself in the pond, bowled by Portland 1’s Dan Scott.
Lithgow Hotel 2’s Anthony Hazel and B Sellers recorded no score in their team’s match against La Salle Hornets 1. La Salle Hornet 1 batsman Adam Lewis also found himself dismissed without score, taken leg before wicket.
Lidsdale’s Harry Bender was stumped for a quacker while opponent Kev Horner from Lithgow Hotel 1 was caught leg before wicket for zero score.
We have no record of La Salle Hornet 2’s batting results this weekend but considering they finished all out for 59, we’re giving them an honorable mention.
