The group stated that, thanks to the immense generosity of the community, it has raised $9000 for Rural Aid’s Buy a Bale Campaign, which aims to make a difference in the lives of Australian farming families.
The funds will be used to send a full semi-trailer of hay to a farming community in need.
“Thank you to all our guests and regulars for jumping on board and helping us reach our targets,” Ian Clark, Bowen Inn Motel’s property manager, said.
“It is exciting to be working together as a community to make a difference.”

Every cent of the $9000 raised will contribute to delivering hale bales to affected farms and communities requiring feed for their cattle.
Despite rainfall over the last few days, this September was Australia’s driest on record, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
“With 11 properties in rural Queensland and New South Wales, this drought is taking its toll on the families and farmers of our very own communities”, Liam Kelly, Southern Cross Motel Group CEO, said.
“We are proud to be doing our part and using our network, stretching from Mackay to Junee, to make a difference.”
