As the pre-summer season kicks off across the state, it is a great time to remind ourselves that when it comes to kids’ sport, it is more about the fun than the scoreboard. That is why this week we have kicked off ‘Shoosh for Kids” awareness week.
Running November 12-18, it is a great opportunity for all community members, spectators and little athletes across our electorate to keep junior sport focused on fun this season. By keeping our local sporting groups positive and welcoming, there is no doubt more kids will get involved and enjoy playing sport.
The key to the campaign is that spectators remain aware there is no place for negative comments in local sport. The NSW Office of Sport is offering free resources to start promoting positive spectator behaviours in your community today. To download these resources and to share the message, visit wwww.sport.nsw.gov.au/shooshforkids

SUPPORTING MULTICULTURAL PROJECTS IN BATHURST
There is so much we can learn by embracing multiculturalism in NSW, which is why the NSW Government is getting behind our local communities. Grants of up to $40,000 are now available for 12-month projects that focus on bridging cross-cultural networks and support building stronger communities.
I encourage all eligible local community organisations across the Bathurst Electorate to consider applying for the Multicultural NSW Celebrating Diversity Projects Grants. Applications close 5pm on Friday, December 14. Apply at www.multicultural.nsw.gov.au/grants/about_grants/.
