Local hockey players Abby Wilson and Rene Hunter are currently touring China with the U23s Australian development squad.
They are competing against China, Jiangsu, Great Britain and Germany to give them a taste of international competition and where they fit among it.
“It’s a good experience in another country and to get the feel of an elite team environment,” Wilson said.
Once returned home from China, Abby Wilson and Lithgow’s Andrea Gillard will set off to New Zealand from November 26 to December 3.
Here they will play for the Australian U21s team in three tests against the Kiwis.
Also making his way around the world is local hockey player Sam Gray who is in the Australian U21s squad, and has just arrived back on home soil after playing in India on a tour with the NSW Institute of Sport.
