The community is invited to come along, with members of the Hoskins family, to attend an 11am Uniting church service on Sunday, October 28. An event to mark the success of the church’s rooftop solar project will be held at 2pm.
For both visitors and residents alike, the Hoskins Uniting Church is often marvelled at for its stunning architecture and beautiful gardens. The church has played a significant role in Lithgow’s religious and wider community and will be celebrating their 90th anniversary on Sunday, October 28.
Reverend Matthew Trounce said the church had an amazing history.
“The church is an amazing construction and design and is a fitting tribute to Charles and Emily Hoskins’ son who passed away,” he said.
The Church is dedicated to Charles and Emily’s eldest son Guildford, who passed away in a work accident. The land where the church now stands was a wasteland at the time filled with rubbish and waste but was slowly converted into the amazing church and grounds you see today.
