An inmate of Lithgow Correctional Centre has been sentenced to eight months jail for assaulting prison officers.

Brodie Vincent Hutchin, 27, was found guilty of four counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer in the execution of their duty in Lithgow Local Court on October 18 in relation to two separate incidents.
The first related to spitting on two guards as they locked Hutchin inside his cell on May 25. In the second incident, the court heard Hutchin punched an officer at least twice in the head. When another officer tried to intervene, he was also punched in the face.
The sentence will be served concurrently with his term for armed robbery. His minimum sentence will expire in March 2019, with his full sentence lasting until March 2020.
Damage property
A coffee cup thrown during an argument has cost a Bowenfels woman $350.
Carla Gilderdale, 32, was fined in Lithgow Local Court on October 18.
The court heard Gilderdale was involved in a fight with another woman on September 4 when she threw the content of the mug at the front door of a Bowenfels home, before throwing the cup itself. The cup slightly damaged the door frame.
Drink driving
A Bowenfels man was sentenced to a 14-month community corrections order with supervision when he faced Lithgow Local Court on October 11.
Neil Daniel Clarke, 41, was convicted of mid range drink driving. He was charged after he was involved in a crash while reversing in the Lithgow Woolworths car park on July 10. He returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.104.
His licence has been suspended for six months and ordered to install an interlock device on his vehicle.
Prohibited
A Katoomba man was fined $450 in Lithgow Local Court on October 18 for having a laser pointer in his custody.
Kevin Leslie Jennings, 45, was pulled over by a police patrol on Rydal Road, Wallerawang, on September 5 and his vehicle was searched.
A black pen-styled Class II laser pointer was found in the vehicle and Jennings was charged with having custody of a prohibited article.
Drugs
Wallerawang man Kane Jones, 25, has been fined $400 for possessing a prohibited drug.
Lithgow Local Court heard Jones flagged down a police patrol on August 27 and told officers he had been approached by an unknown man with a gun. The officers suspected he was under the influence of drugs and two clear bags containing 3 grams of cannabis were found in his possession.
Drink driving
Oberon woman Laura May McFawn, 19, was fined $1500 and banned from driving for two months for low-range drink driving.

The offence occurred on September 1 at Mount Lambie. In Lithgow Local Court on October 4, she was also ordered to install an interlock device on her vehicle, which requires a breath-test to start.
Driving suspended
Nicola Sutton, 43, from Parkes, faced charges in Lithgow Local Court on October 4 of driving while suspended.
She was charged on June 21 after being pulled over at Mount Lambie.
Sutton was fined $700 and disqualified from driving for three months.
