Awardees will be announced and celebrated at the Australia Day Ceremony on January 26, 2019.
“The Citizenship Awards are an important opportunity to recognise the contribution and achievements of individuals within our community,” Lithgow City Council mayor Ray Thompson said.

The NSW Local Citizenship Award categories are:
- Volunteer of the Year Award (Young Citizen and Open Citizen)
- Achievement Award (Young Citizen and Open Citizen)
- Service to the Community – Organisation Award
- Recognition of Outstanding Event Award
The Volunteer of the Year Award is for people who have given their time freely to help the community within the Lithgow LGA. The Achievement Award is for those who have excelled in their chosen field which may include academia, business, the arts and sciences or community service.
The Young Citizen category is for people between 16 and 26, while the Open category is for all over 16.
Nomination forms are available from the front counter of the Lithgow City Council Administration Centre, at all Lithgow Library Branches and online at http://council.lithgow.com/australia-day/. Nominations will close on November 26.
