The 2018-2019 season will get under way on Saturday, October 13 with 11 teams competing.
At a meeting of the Lithgow District Cricket Association on October 3, it was voted to combine all the teams into a single competition for the first 11 rounds.
Association president Danny Whitty said the loss of two of last year’s teams, one Hotel team and one Hampton team, meant the competition did not have enough to contest A grade as a stand-alone season.
“We had a very prolonged meeting about it on Wednesday, trying to sort our the grades,” he said.
“In the end it’s going to be like the lemon – we’ll suck it and see.”

Whitty said the structure was used several years ago.
“We hope it will work out well,” he said.
After round 11 in the new structure, the top six teams and the bottom five teams will play one full round of games.
The finals will then be held from March 9, 2019.
The top six teams will play a six team finals series for the first and second grade titles and the bottom five teams will play a top four teams semi-finals series. The last placed team will be out of contention at that point.
The teams contesting the senior division will beLa Salle Hornets No 1 and No 2, Lidsdale, Hampton, Portland No 1 and No 2, Lithgow Valley Cricket Club No 1 and No 2, Lithgow Cricket Club No 1 and No 2 and Hartley Cricket Club.
