Lithgow man Stephen James Lea, 56, made no application for bail when he faced Lithgow Local Court on Friday, October 5 charged with attempted murder.

Mr Lea has been charged with causing wounding or grievous bodily harm to a person with the intent to murder.
The charges relate to an incident on Clarice Street, Lithgow, on Thursday, October 5, which left a 68-year-old woman in critical condition.
The woman, who allegedly suffered a knife wound to her throat, was transported to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition. She has since required two surgical procedures.
Mr Lea appeared in court dressed in a forensics coverall suit.
Magistrate Follent recommended he be sent for a mental health assessment.
The matter will come back to Lithgow Local Court on December 13.
Emergency services were called to a unit on Clarice Street just after midday on Thursday following reports a woman had been assaulted. Officers from Chifley Police District attended and found a 68-year-old woman suffering a serious neck injury.
A crime scene was established and detectives initiated an investigation, including a search of Mr Lea’s Barton Street home.
