Stubbs defeated Lesley Townsend in a game where the best fojur bowls count that are closest to the jack.
Townsend got a great start and at the 6th end was winning 32/28, but Stubbs started to play her usual accurate game and in the next 11 ends scored a massive 79 points to have a very handy lead of 107-63.

Townsend pulled out all stops to reduce the lead but Stubbs scored the magic 10 on one end and then went on to win comfortably in a hard fought game.
Congratulations to both players on an excellent championship.
The Workies women’s bowlers did their club proud at Taren Point State Champoinships, with two out of three teams making it into the second round.
The club is winding down after a very successful year with the two day carnival in October and the popular Versatility 6s in November.
