Over the past ten years, the Portland Business Chamber president, Andrew Neville, has participated in the annual race which has become the biggest fun run in country New South Wales.
“It’s a great community event that encourages exercise, promoting health and wellbeing through a fun run,” Mr Neville said.
“We had five locals compete this year for ANT Fitness, achieving personal best times.”
The 7.5 kilometre Edgell Jog has been aiming to increase fitness in the local community since the first race in 1976.
Lithgow City Council’s Cass Coleman cheered on her daughter Rose, excited to see both Portland and Lithgow runners at the start line.
“I am in awe of the gruelling training schedule of the past weeks for the ANT Fitness team,” Cr Coleman said.
“Congratulations to all of you who are actively leading the way to a happier and healthier community.”

Previously ANT Fitness took seven competitors to the annual City2Surf fun run, where they ran the 14 kilometre distance between Hyde Park and Bondi Beach on foot.
Mr Neville commended the group’s dedication to training and fulfilling their personal goals.
“Every single person achieved the goal that they set for the race,” he said.
