That’s the opinion of Bathurst’s Towri Multifunctional Aboriginal Children’s Services (MACS) Director Courtney Glazebrook, who has proudly watched their trainee develop important skills while studying a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care at TAFE NSW.
“We are really noticing Hollie demonstrate an exceptional understanding of the cultural needs of the children she works with, engaging in thoughtful and respectful interactions while providing high quality care and education,” Ms Glazebrook said.
“This is the first time Towri MACS has offered a traineeship in Aboriginal children’s services and Hollie has set a high benchmark. We could not be any more proud of her commitment and dedication to the organisation and the Bathurst community.
“We believe that traineeships are an ideal way to learn by combining essential theoretical concepts at TAFE NSW and the development of practical on-the-job skills at Towri MACS.”
Hollie said she was grateful for the career opportunity Courtney and the team at Towri MACS, Skillset Workforce and TAFE NSW Bathurst have given her.
“I love being able to interact with children and most importantly play a major role in helping them learn and discover themselves at a young age,” she said.

“My teacher, Marney Lynch, knows so much about the early childhood industry and is always very approachable.”
Ms Lynch complimented Hollie on her efforts and commitment.
“Hollie is currently in her first year of study and was nominated as a finalist for the Skillset Workforce Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Apprentice or Trainee of the Year for 2018,” she said.
“This was no surprise to me as she completes all her assessments to the best of her ability and shows maturity beyond her years.
“Hollie is the perfect example of students coming to TAFE NSW to get the skills and experience they need to be employed in a job they love.”
