The money, to fund the second stage of upgrades at the track, will allow for the replacement of an Armco section of the pit wall at the second turn with concrete.
It will also relocate the existing track entry/exit points to improve safety and suitability for all speedway division events.

In announcing the funds, Bathurst MP Paul Toole said the upgraded venue would attract increased participation from competitors and parents of junior competitors, who have had concerns over track safety.
“As a result, more competitors will deliver better racing and improve the entertainment value of the raceway for local and visiting spectators. This is also expected to lead to an increase in spectator numbers at race meetings,” he said.
“Cullen Bullen Raceway has been operating since 1991 and is the only speedway facility between Sydney and Dubbo. However, its low safety rating as determined by Speedway Australia is preventing participation by local and visiting drivers who race in the higher divisions of the sport, and deterring other competitors who have concerns over the safety issue.
“The project will benefit the community by enabling the running of safer and higher division events and will contribute to maintaining the viability of this speedway venue.”
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro said the roll out of the $300 million Stronger Country Communities Fund was part of the NSW Government’s $1.6 billion Regional Growth Fund that is employing local tradies, putting local suppliers to work and providing the right environment to operate regional businesses.
