Australian artists already confirmed include the four-time ARIA-winning singer-songwriter Katie Noonan with legendary cartoonist Michael Leunig as well as the eclectic The Others – a trio composed of jazz supremos James Morrison and Paul Grabowsky with Spiderbaits’ Kramm.
The list continues with the exuberant Melbourne folk/pop five-piece Perch Creek, the sister vocals of Vika and Linda Bull, guitar maestros The Grigoryan Bros with multi- talented Adam Page, the wonderful Marcia Howard Trio, the big band sound of The Northern Folk, SA’s the Coconut Kids and hot blues from 19-Twenty.
From the UK, the festival welcomes international folk legend Ralph McTell, piano playing boogie woogie king Ben Waters and his band, contemporary blues, psyche rock, folk and funk musician Z-STAR Delta, eclectic art rock band the Moulettes and beloved one-man soul band, poet and storyteller Rory McLeod.
Travelling to Australia from Ireland are newcomers Wallis Bird and The Daoiri Farrell Trio joined by perennial favourite Luka Bloom. Canadians include Tomato Tomato, Melisande, Les Chauffeurs à Pied, and the stunning vocalist Basia Bulat.
From the USA come the Bluegrass sensation Front Country and ukulele hotshots The Naked Waiters.
Also, the world music sound of Denmark’s Afenginn and the hilarious Topp Twins from New Zealand round out a very impressive first announcement.
As always there will be three days of great music on seven stages, as well as the songwriters’ and instrumental circles, Heartland Conversations and roaming performers.
