Organisers of the Bathurst Writers’ and Readers’ Festival, in association with BooksPlus and Local Stages, say they are pleased to confirm Ford will appear at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre for one of a small number of regional events on her Australia-wide tour.

She says she has written Boys Will Be Boys in response to a question often posed to her by parents, both in person and online: how to best raise their sons to be supportive of women in a society of increasing violence and hatred towards women and girls.
In her new book, she looks at the influences of toxic masculinity upon boys and young men and how it can shape an entitled, disrespectful and potentially dangerous idea of manhood for them, robbing them of their innocence and providing entitlements that in turn can deny the rights of women and girls.
Ford will be in conversation with Alison Gerard, director of the Centre for Law and Justice at Charles Sturt University, about her new book at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, October 2 at 6.30pm.
Tickets for the event can be purchased from BMEC for $20 adults and $15 concession.
The event will be a fundraiser for the 2019 Bathurst Writers’ and Readers’ Festival to be held at BMEC in early May.
