ANT Fitness took seven competitors to the annual City2Surf fun run, which saw some of Sydney’s busiest streets taken over by 80,000 runners, walkers and joggers.
Personal trainer and owner of ANT Fitness Andrew Neville said his team had a very positive experience participating in the event.
“It was very pleasing to see new people try out the event for the first time and to see them enjoying themselves,” he said.
“It never disappoints, every year it almost has a party feel with the music all along the route. Everyone is there to have fun, it’s a really good event to be part of.”
Neville congratulated his team, made up of Joanne Curran, Brendan Case, Tomislav King, Craig Cutting and Tabitha and Dalton Neville.
He commended the group’s dedication to training and fulfilling their personal goals.
“Every single person achieved the goal that they set for the race, that was the most impressive thing,” he said.
Craig Cutting shaved nine minutes off his race goal of 70 minutes, completing the 14 kilometres in just over an hour.
“Craig’s 61 minutes was very impressive,” Neville said.
“Tom and Tabitha had three seconds between their times even though they didn’t run together, which was pretty amazing.”
For Andrew Neville it was his 13th City2Surf and he managed to raise $560 for the Heart Foundation. Next year he hopes to take a team of twenty people to the race with him.
“The ANT Fitness Running Group meets every Thursday at 6pm for a friendly group run suited to walkers, runners and everyone in between,” he said.
