A man missing in bushland in the Blue Mountains has been located safe and well.
The 27-year-old was located by Polair about 1.50pm on Friday, August 17 in bushland near Katoomba and was winches to safety.
Police thank the community for its assistance.
EARLIER:
Police are searching for a man missing in bushland in the Blue Mountains.
About 10am on Thursday, August 16, David Lustina, aged 27, embarked on a bushwalk alone from the Katoomba area to the Ruined Castle rock formation.
Just before midnight police were notified after he failed to return to his accommodation in Katoomba.
A preliminary search was conducted overnight and that search continues this morning involving officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command, Police Rescue, PolAir, and SES.
Mr Lustina, who is a citizen of the Czech Republic, is believed to have limited cold weather clothing and supplies.
Police have concerns for his welfare due to cold weather overnight.
A command post has been established at Katoomba Police Station. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact police.
