The Australian flag is sadly fluttering at half mast in honour of long time Lithgow Golf Club member Jim Cronin who past away late last week.

The popular Jim was one of the good guys at the club where he was a member for well over sixty years. In that time he held various offices and was held in high esteem by all that he came in contact with. Condolences from all the members and the board go out to his wife Peg and his family.
A two ball best ball was held on Saturday with the strong winds playing havoc with the field.
Winners with a score of 47 was the team of Jeff Geddes and Rod Bright. The big hitting Bright was on fire scoring a number of birdies and an eagle while Geddes was on hand to give good support.
Also on 47 points was the combination of Rob Hawes and the inform Scott Hunter.
A single event was held in conjunction with Max Nightingale hitting some great form to finish with 41 points to take out the voucher.
Best scratch scores in each grade were: A, Andrew Burton 34; B, Kobe Hunter 29 and C, Tom Jennings 11.

Nearest the pin awards went to Paul Stewart, Bill Oldfield, Darren Hunt, Rod Bright and Pat Wall.
Balls in the ball competition went out to those teams with 42 on a countback.
The Friday nine hole competition was won by Steve Mays on a countback from Mitch Luka with both carding 26 points. Balls went out to 22 points ocb.
