The group walked from Queen Elizabeth Park to Cook Street Plaza to protest that Marjorie should be moved back to her original spot.
Protester Marilyn McManus said that the statue at least needed a plaque to explain who she was and what she did for Lithgow.
“Tourists aren’t going to know who she is,” Mrs McManus said.
Erin Boyd said that it was degrading and young girls who use to be able to look up to Marjorie couldn’t do that anymore.
“We need to be acknowledging women and especially this woman who brought so much to the town, I will definitely be fighting for her,” she said.
Margaret Wilson use to run and be coached by the same man who coached Marjorie back in the day.
“I use to run with her and she was just so talented that it is a shame to see her statue brought down like this,” she said.
Sue Graves and Gaye Mason also attended the march to show their support for where Marjorie is now.

“It’s too early to say whether or not she should be moved,” Mrs Graves said.
Mrs Graves said the statue was now more prominent for people driving past.
“I think she would be happy to just be acknowledged,” she said.
