The power will be out from 8am-4pm, causing concerns that some vulnerable people may be at risk with no heating and temperatures hitting a maximum of 8 degrees. Snow is also predicted above 800m on Sunday morning.
A spokesperson from Endeavour Energy said the work to replace two condemned poles had been scheduled to coincide with planned maintenance on Sydney Trains’ high voltage electricity network, which also runs through that part of Lithgow.
Residents affected will be on:
- Parts of Sandford Avenue
- Ivan Street
- Hepburn Street
- Busby Street
- Wilton Close
”Because of the close proximity between both electricity networks, these condemned poles cannot be safely replaced while the Sydney Trains network is live,” the Endeavour spokesperson said.
“Where electricity supply to customers is interrupted for planned maintenance, Endeavour Energy notifies them well in advance to allow them time to make alternative arrangements.”
