Lithgow Storm junior rugby league players contested the Carpet One Cup for the fourth year on Saturday, August 4.

Every year the inaugural cup is sponsored by Carpet One, Professionals Lithgow and GB Building to allow kids in non-competitive rugby league to get a taste of what the competitive game is like.
All three junior teams took on the higher ranked Orange Bloomfield Tigers teams and despite trying their best they weren’t able to take a win.
The under 10’s had a close match, only losing out by eight points, going down 30-22 against the top ranked Bloomfield side.
The under 11’s had a hard game against the Tigers being defeated 42 to 10.

Unfortunately the under 12’s weren’t able to get a score on the board against the difficult Bloomfield side who are runners up on the leader board, going down 32-0.
Other matches that were also played on the day were the under 13’s,14’s,15’s and 16’s.
The Storm had a very close game in the under 13’s, coming out on top against the Cym’s 1-0.
The under 14 boys had a strong win over the Blayney Bears, winning 30-4.
But the strongest win of the day went to the Lithgow under 15’s side who won 60-10 against the Cowra Magpies.
The under 16 Storm and Oberon team went down to the Cowra Magpies 30-18.
