The Panthers copped a 50-18 hiding in Brisbane on Friday night to make it four losses from their last five games.
The visitors were no match for an on-song Brisbane in the NSW playmaker's first game back from a foot and toe injury.
The Panthers' loss put them level with four other top-eight sides on 11 wins and saw them nudged out of the top four with six rounds remaining.
While unhappy with the effort - Brisbane ran riot with five first-half tries - Maloney said the situation was far from critical.
"I'm probably not as concerned about it as you guys seem to be," he told media post-game.
"We've got six weeks to go and we'll need to be playing our best in six weeks.
"A lot changes (in that time); I'd be more concerned if we were humming and doing everything right (now), because I'd have doubts we could hold it for another 10 weeks.
"We're all back together and we'll begin to build and we'll get it right."
Fellow Origin teammates Tyrone Peachey and Nathan Cleary also returned after missing last weekend's clash while Josh Mansour scored a try in his first game since a serious facial injury in April.
Griffin applauded winger Mansour's efforts while echoing his captain's assurances.
"Yeah 100 per cent (there's time to turn it around)," he said.
"Brisbane were sitting here last week (after a heavy loss to the New Zealand Warriors) thinking they couldn't play and they came out and turned it around.
"We'll turn it around ... I'm not happy with what happened tonight, not acceptable, but it's a performance that we'll learn from."
He said replacement fullback Jerome Luai would have scans on Saturday after he suffered ligament damage to his ankle in a first half collision and played no further part in the game.
