The annual lunch gave Chair of Three Tree Lodge board, Garry Brown, the opportunity to present Jan Hawken, the president of the Vale Ladies, with a gift as a way of saying thank you for helping them out while they renovated a section of their building.
“When Three Tree Lodge was being built we put on a few events for them here and we were just trying to do something nice,” Mrs Hawken said.
Mr Brown said they took up the invite to come to the event because the Vale Ladies have been really good to Three Tree Lodge.
“When we were renovating we were causing some disruption to residents and on such short notice the ladies would entertain our clients,” he said.
Renovations included knocking out walls and taking windows out.
“We thought that this small donation was an appropriate way of saying thanks,” he said.
Mr Brown said the Vale Ladies didn’t just work with age care, but they were a community group that got behind the community.
“We just want to say thank you for what you do, because you honestly do such a great job,” he said.
