Each September, Daffodils at Rydal brings thousands of visitors to the small historic village to see the fabulous show-piece gardens that locals work so hard to build and maintain to raise money for local charities.
In 2018, the Rydal Village Association is hoping to engage and support the local art community by adding a sculpture competition after the recent passing of local sculpture artist Antony Symons.
This year will also see some new attractions to help expand the event.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re a first time sculptor or an old hand, all submissions are welcome,” member of the Rydal Village Association and Daffodil Committee, Christina Lewis said.
Since 2005, the Rydal Village Association’s Daffodils at Rydal Festival has raised over $200,000 for local charities in the Lithgow local government area.
The association is calling all artists to get pencils, crayons, paints, clay, rock, wood and metal to create something based on whichever subject you choose.
