The rebate aims to help young people to experience cultural and learning activities outside of school and help ease cost of living pressure for parents.
The new program takes its lead from the hugely successful Active Kids program announced last year with $216 million of funding allocated over the next four years.
Bathurst MP Paul Toole said he had heard “loud and clear” from parents right across the Bathurst Electorate that the Active Kids Rebate made a difference to the household budget.
“And this program will help parents even more,” Mr Toole said. The new Creative Kids Rebate can be put towards the cost of registration, participation or tuition fees for creative and cultural activities such as music lessons, language classes, coding and digital, visual and performing arts.”

Mr Toole said that from January 1, 2019, parents of school-aged children will be able to access both the $100 Active Kids Rebate and the $100 Creative Kids Rebate each year for every school-aged child.
“We want to give every encouragement and every opportunity for children to try new things and have the best start in life,” Mr Toole said.
“For a family with two children, Creative and Active Kids combined will save you $400 a year.”
The Creative Kids Rebate will be available online or in person at a Service NSW center, with more information around eligibility criteria for both parents and providers to be made available in the coming months.
