The grand final was a near carbon-copy of the major semi-final encounter, where Charolais prevailed 14-5.
Charolais won the opening rubber 2-1 but the narrow margin gave no indication of what was to come.
Charolais reeled off the next eight games to grab the match by the throat at 10-1 and have one hand and an extra thumb on the title.
Wrecksavers delayed the inevitable by taking the next rubber 2-1 to get back to 11-3 down and were still in it mathematically. Charolais put them out of their misery though, winning a tight rubber 2-1 to be crowned Champions, 13-4.
All of the Charolais players were in good touch, with Sean Jenkins (6-1), Leon Rust (4-1) and Riza Wiradi (3-2) giving solid contributions, while fourth team member Sharnie Roberts cheered from the sidelines.
Wrecksavers couldn’t repeat their heroics from the week before and were thoroughly outplayed. Linda Kappos scored 2-3, Matt Kappos 1-4 and Pauline Wellfare 1-6. Fourth team member Maurie Poole was powerless to help his side.
The Association will hold practice nights from next week with a view to commencing the next competition in mid-July.
New and current players are encouraged to attend. Play commences at 7.15pm on Wednesday nights at the Old Trades Hall (down the lane next to Waratah Dental in Railway Parade).
