Although diversions have been lifted there is a reduced speed limit of 80km/h due to road surface damage. Motorists are advised to exercise caution through the area.
EARLIER: A truck fire at Meadow Flat between Bathurst and Lithgow has shut the Great Western Highway.
Live Traffic NSW has reported the highway is closed in both directions. The incident is between Barton Avenue and Sunny Corner Road.
The fire started just before 7am today and the incident was last checked at 7.27am.

Diversions are in place.
For Eastbound traffic you’ll be diverted to: Sunny Corner Road, Portland Sunny Corner Road, Pipers Flat Road, Barton Avenue and return to the Great Western Highway.
Westbound traffic will be sent Barton Avenue, Pipers Flat Road, Portland Sunny Corner Road and Sunny Corner Road to return to the Great Western Highway.
