Over the past couple of months, Lithgow golfers have had to contend with dry hard dusty fairways, but on Saturday all that turned around following two or three days of rain.

There was no run and hitting the ball clean was difficult with the scoring showing this.
The event was a two ball best ball with a single event in conjunction with the two ball winners being early morning golfers Warren Kennedy and Dean Stafford who amassed 45 points.
Runners up on a countback were Max Nightingale and Greg Jackson back on 42.
There were a number of golfers who finished on 36 points individually with Kobe Hunter emerging as the winner which again showed the difficulty of conditions on the day with no one actually breaking their handicap.
Nearest to the pins went to Bill Oldfield (2), Michael Bennett, Kevin Hanrahan and Geoff Wheeler.
Balls went out to teams with 41 points and better.
The long weekend traditionally saw the Monday two person ambrose.
Winners were young Wolves footy stars Harry Bender and Nic Miller with 59 and a quarter.
Rugby League players again stood up showing their golfing expertise with Nathan Redding and Josh Howarth finishing runners up on 60 and three quarters.
Balls went to teams with 65 nett and they were ambrose specialists Ross and Kylie Harrington, Geoff Wheeler and Paul Bailey, Bill and Luke Oldfield and Jeff Geddes and Michael Casey.
A nine hole was also held on Monday with Juan Farmer taking out the major voucher with 26 points.
Ball winners were Brian Quick and John Chadwick.
The Friday nine hole competition was won By Paul Cinat on 27 points with Jeff Geddes, Harry Bennett and Max Nightingale figuring in the ball competition.
A sad note from the previous week was the passing of former golf club president and long term member Ray ‘Pippy’ Hamment.
He was a popular member with all and was instrumental in the survival of the club along with a couple of other board members a number of years ago.
Condolences go to his sons and members Fraser and Scott, wife Noelene and the rest of Pippy’s family on their sad loss.
